Route Survey Process

Our route surveys cover the entire path from load origin to destination. The survey vehicle travels the route and documents:

  • All bridge clearances and weight ratings with measurements
  • Overhead utilities, traffic signals, and sign gantries
  • Road surface conditions, pavement ratings, and load zones
  • Turning radii at every intersection and access point
  • Railroad crossings and grade crossing clearances
  • Construction zones, detours, and temporary restrictions
  • Curfew hours and restricted movement times by jurisdiction

Survey results are compiled into a detailed report with GPS-tagged photos, clearance measurements, and move recommendations. This report is shared with the driver, dispatch team, and customer before move day.

Bridge Engineering Analysis

For super loads and overweight moves, simple visual clearance isn't enough. STX works with licensed structural engineers to perform bridge load rating analysis, confirming that bridges along the route can safely carry your load's axle weights and gross vehicle weight. Where bridges cannot accommodate the load, we identify detours and document alternate routing.
